Volunteer and Get Involved
The Owensville Cemetery West Association is always seeking dedicated volunteers to help us maintain and preserve this invaluable historical site. Your contribution helps us honor the past and serve the community.

Lend a Helping Hand
The Owensville Cemetery West Association welcomes volunteers from all walks of life to join us in preserving this historic site.
We want to start hosting an Annual Volunteer Day, where individuals and groups come together to help clean the cemetery, trim trees, clear brush, and place flags and flowers to honor those buried here. It’s a powerful way to give back, connect with the past, and support a cause rooted in respect and unity.

Areas to Contribute
Volunteer opportunities include:
- Cemetery clean-up and beautification
- Historical research
- Event planning and support
- If you have any stories to share that have been passed down in your family about the cemetery WE WOULD LOVE to hear about them. If anyone has photos related to the cemetery we would greatly appreciate you sharing them with us.

Skills and Interests
Someone who has a passion for history, community service, or preservation. Someone who just wants to support the cemetery. If you have skills that include landscaping, research, storytelling, organization, events, or grant writing, that would assist us greatly. But most of all, just a caring heart and willingness to help is what really matters.

Other Ways to Support
We are a Nonprofit Organization. Besides volunteering:
Donating funds or supplies for maintenance and preservation would really help us.

A Story of Impact: Wonderful Examples of Pure Kindness.
We are deeply grateful to Lisa Baker, her husband Paul, and the American Legion for stepping up with heart and purpose to organize volunteers for a major cemetery clean-up, an act of kindness that truly uplifted our mission. We are also thankful sincerely for Kayla Sanders, who regenerated support and access to machinery, making it possible and safely to remove the old segregate fence, turning a painful symbol of division into a powerful act of unity. These individuals are shining examples of what it means to honor the past and help build a better future for Owensville Cemetery.
